Adriance Library
The Brazoria County Historical Museum houses the Adriance Library & Research Center, a repository for information on Brazoria County and related historical subjects. Extensive genealogical and photographic holdings draw researchers from across the United States.
Mrs. Lois Brock Adriance devoted considerable time and resources to developing a museum library. Her dedication made the library a reality.
The Brazoria County Historical Museum has posted a large number of its collection records online for you to use in your research. We hope that you will enjoy this new tool and find it helpful. This database is still being tested and presently only has a java search feature available, which will run slowly. We are in the process of debugging the database and hope to have a server side search engine operational soon. If you have any questions about any of the material you see in our collection, please contact us at research@bchm.org. Thank you.
Old Database
This old database is difficult to maintain, is quirky and does not always work, which is why we created the new database. The new database also contains several thousand more records. However, as we work on our new database you might find our older database to be useful.

The Old 300 Database
This database includes a core listing of all settlers who had received land grants in Austin's Colony by the eve of the war for independence from Mexico. Over time, this list will be expanded to include ancestors and descendants of those settlers. If you are related to one or more members of the core group and have information about your ancestors, please share it with the Museum at research@bchm.org so that it can be added to this listing.
Brazoria County Cemetery Database
This database includes records of over 23,000 interments in 140 cemeteries across Brazoria County. An active group of volunteers continues to enter new records to this ever growing inventory. The database is presently hosted at www.texasgen.org. The Museum will soon mirror the database here, and eventually host this service.
